2. Description
2.1 Construction
This frost protection heating cable consists of a resistance heating element (heating cable), thermostat and
power cable. The metallic jacket provides additional mechanical strength and the connection to the earthing.
A thermostat, built-in to regulate temperature, is between the thermistor and heating cable.
2.2 Correct use
The frost protection heating cable must only be used to keep metal cold water pipes and temperature-
resistance plastic up to a diameter of 40 mm free from frost. The heating cable should be installed flat to the
underside of the pipe.
The regulations and safety instructions set out in these operating instructions must be complied with. Use
of the cable in any other area shall be deemed incorrect use. The manufacturer accepts no liability for any
resulting physical and/or material damage.

2.4 Function
The heating cable has an automatic thermostat that switches the heating cable on when it detects a tempe-
rature of approx. +3 °C and switches it off again when it detects a temperature of approx. +13 °C. (Fig. 12)
