MD/External disc control features
Function of MD with Group Registration
Group Select
Displaying the title of the group containing the
song you want to listen to, and selecting the
group.

Enter Group Select mode
Press the [G.SEL] button.
"Group Select" is displayed.
During Select mode the group information is
displayed as shown below.
• Group title display:
Display the currently selected group title.
• Group number display:
Displays the number of currently selected group.

Select the group
Press the [FM] or [AM] button.
With the [FM] button you move to the previous
group, and with the [AM] button to the next
group.
• Tracking in the Group Select mode differs from that in
the Group search.
Refer to 'Notes on playing MD Group' (page 6).
To scroll the Group titles
Press the [DISP] button.
Canceling the Group Select
Press the [G.SEL] button.

Decide the group to play
Press the [

] button.
The Group Select mode exits, and the first song
in the group is played.
Function of disc changer
Disc Naming (DNPS)
Attaching a title to a CD.

Play the disc you want to attach a name to
• Refer to the 'Upper text display part select' (page
10) and select the "DNPS" display.
No name can be
attached to the source if "DNPS" cannot be selected
for it.

Enter name set mode
Press the [NAME.S] button for at least 2
seconds.
"Name Set" is displayed.

Move the cursor to the enter character
position
Press the [

Select the character type
Press the [

Each time the button is pressed the character
typed switches as shown below.

Press the [FM] or [AM] button.
• Characters can be entered by using a remote with a
number button.
Example: If "DANCE" is entered.
