MANUAL TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION
1. Do not connect the temperature probe if manual temperature compensation is desired.
2. Press the ‘C’ key to enter the manual temperature setting mode.
3. Press ENTER to confirm and the meter returns to measurement mode. Setting is now complete.
CALIBRATION OF THE TESTER
The KS-PH-220-BASIC needs to be calibrated prior to first use or when a new sensor is installed in the meter. Regular
calibration is needed to ensure accurate pH measurement.
The KS-PH-220-BASIC can perform two points calibration. For the first calibration point, the pH 7.00 buffer solution is
used.
The solution used for the second calibration point depends on the sample to be measured. For acidic samples, the pH
4.01 buffer solution should be used. For alkaline samples, the pH 10.01 buffer solution should be used.
For the KS-PH-220-BASIC, only pH pouches are included and the user must prepare the solutions. Do not recycle
used calibration solutions.
PREPARATION OF PH BUFFER SOLUTIONS
1. The KS-PH-220-BASIC comes with three pH buffer solution pouches: pH 7, pH 10.01 and pH 4.01
2. Open one of the pouches and place it into a 250 ml volumetric flask. Add in distilled water to match the scale line.
3. Mix the solution until it is dissolved.
4. Repeat the procedures for the other pouches that will be used during calibration.
CALIBRATION PROCESS
1. Begin by preparing the needed buffer solutions.
2. Rinse the pH electrode with distilled water.
3. Press the SETUP key to access the setup menu.
