Amount of Detergent to Use

IF THE WATE R ISN'T  TOO HARD, YOU M AY ALSO PREVENT THE FORM ATION OF DEPOSITS BY ADDING DETERGENT. 

The a mount o f de tergent ne ede d c an vary due to di fference s in w ater ha rdne ss. To determine t he water ha rdne ss i n y our ar ea , 

conta ct your l oca l wa ter uti lity or area w ater softeni ng company. The harder the water , the mo re detergent you may nee d. 

Rem ember, y ou s hould adjust the amount of detergent you use by smal l amounts until you fi n d the correc t amount.

Proper Use of Detergent

Removing Hard Water Spots

To re move hard w ater spots, try the fol low ing:

      Run dishes through a norma l w ash program.

      Re move all me tal di shware , s uch as cutlery , pans , e tc.,

      Do not add dete rge nt.

      Pour two c ups of v ine gar into a bow l a nd set the bowl fa ce

      Run the di shes through a normal wash program .

If this doe sn't work, try the sa me pr oce ss w ith 1 / 4 cup of 

ci tri c ac id crys tals instead of vinegar.

Use onl y dete rge nt s pec ific al ly made for us e in di shwa shers. 

Ke ep your detergent fre sh and dry . Don't put pow der deterge nt 
into the dispen s er until You're rea dy to wa sh dishes.

RINSE A ID  DISPENSER

The rinse aid i s rele ased during the fina l ri nse to pr eve nt wate r 

from forming droplets on y our dis hes tha t c an l eav e spots a nd 

strea ks. It also improve s drying by al lowing wa ter to "sheet" off 

the dishes .

Your dishw as hers are des igned to use l iquid rinse aids . The 

rinse aid dis penser i s loc ated i nside the door nex t to the 

deterge nt di spenser. To fil l  the dispens er, open the c ap and 

pour the rinse ai d i nto the dispe nser until the  l ev el i ndic ator 

turns compl etel y black. The di spe ns er hol ds about 100 ml of  
li quid ri nse a id.

Be ca reful not to overfill the di spens er, becaus e this c ould 

ca use ov ersudsi ng. Wipe aw ay any spi lls wi th a da mp cl oth. 

Don't forget to repl ac e the cap be fore y ou c lose the dis hwa sher 

door.
If you hav e soft wa ter , you m ay not nee d r ins e aid for it may 

ca use a white film to develop on y our dishes .

DETERGENT DISPEN SER

To open the dispense r, turn the ca p to the "open" (l eft) 

arrow and lift i t out.

Pour the ri nse aid into the dispenser, being c areful not to 

overfill.
Replace the ca p by inse rti ng it ali gned wi th "open" arrow 

and turni ng it to the clos ed (right) a rrow.

Ad justing Rinse A id Dispenser

A mea sure d amount of ri ns e a id is rel eas ed duri ng the final rins e. As w ith dete rge nt, the am ount

of ri nse a id nee ded for your di shes depends on the hardness of the wa ter i n your a rea. Too much
ri nse a id ca n res ult in l ather of foa ming a nd c aus e cl oudi nes s or ste ak s on your dishes. If the

water i n your a rea is v ery soft, you ma y not ne ed ri nse a id. If y ou do,you c an dil ute the ri nse a id
with an equal amount of water.

The rinse aid di spens er has six settings. Always start w ith the dis pens er s et on " 1 ". If spots a nd

poor dry ing are probl em s, increase the a mount of rins e aid dispense d by removi ng the di spe nser

li d and rotating the dial to "2". If the dishes s till are not drying properly or a re spotted, adjust the

dia l to the nex t higher number unti l your dishes are spot-fre e. We sugge s t you to set on "4" .
