When the unit is in position, lower the stabilisers to the ground. The tractor wheels should still
be supporting most of the vehicle's weight, as the stabilisers only provide stabilising support and
prevents the unit from moving or bouncing during operation. If the tractor is equipped with a front
loader, lower it to the ground. When working on fragile surfaces such as concrete, stone ground, sandy
or loose ground, lay a plywood board under stabilisers to distribute the weight over a larger area
.
BASIC EXCAVATION TECHNIQUES
When you start digging, always make the first cuts as thoroughly as possible and make sure you
follow the contour. The purpose of this is to minimise damage to the ground and the bucket.
The first cuts are also important as they will serve as a template for the remaining cuts. Following the
first cuts carefully will make the remaining excavation more precise.
