Care & safety instructions
Dear kela customer,
We congratulate you on the purchase of your long-lasting quality product from kela. In order to have many
years of enjoyment with it, please read the following product information and instructions for use and care, as
well as the safety recommendations.
HAZARDS AND SAFETY INFORMATION
First of all, please read the instructions for use carefully and follow the individual steps closely. Failure to do
so may result in damage to the burner safety valve –
risk of injury!
For safety reasons, the burner is empty and must be filled first.
The burner must only be filled/refilled in a well-lit place, without any ignition source and not in the vicinity of
other people (see 4. Safety instructions).
1. FILLING / REFILLING WITH GAS
1.1 Only use standard refill lighter gas.
1.2 Make sure that the function control
4
is in the
“OFF”
position and the flame is extinguished.
1.3 Remove the base
6
by pulling it off so that the refill valve is accessible.
1.4 Select a suitable filling nozzle that fits into the refill valve of the burner.
1.5 Turn the burner upside down so that the refill nozzle is pointing upwards.
1.6 Place the refill gas cartridge on the refill valve with the filling nozzle pointing downwards. Hold the
cartridge vertically and avoid lateral movements while you initiate the filling process with sufficient
pressure and the gas audibly flows in. Then re-attach the
6
base.
2. IGNITING / EXTINGUISHING THE FLAME AND REGULATING THE FLAME INTENSITY
2.1 Make sure that the function control
4
is in the “
OFF”
position.
2.2 Hold the burner in an upright position.
2.3 Press the child safety button
2
until it engages automatically.
2.4 Press and hold the ignition button
3
to ignite the gas burner. If the flame is burning constantly, then
slide the function control
4
to
“continuous”
. Now the flame will continue to burn independently without
pressing the ignition button.
If the burner is cold, the ignition process may have to be repeated several times (from point 2.1).
To do
this, always slide the function control to the “
OFF”
position beforehand (point 2.1). An ignition
attempt in the "continuous" position will damage the safety valve.
2.5 Regulating the flame intensity: The flame intensity can be adjusted with the slider
1
by moving it in the
“+” or “ –” direction.
2.6 Regulating the flame hardness: The flame hardness can be changed
5
from
“hard”
(= maximum air
intake – is preset) to “
soft”
(comparable to a candle flame) by turning the air intake sleeve.
2.7 Extinguishing the flame / terminating the operation:
Slide the function control
4
to
“OFF”.
