S46/S46T/S46L Microwave Switch System Instruction Manual

Section 4: Service Information

Connect the two S40-0218 adapters (BNC to single banana plug) to the two
S40-0219 cables (BNC/M).

Set the Model 2010 to the 2-wire 10

range.

Connect the two banana plug ends to the DMM INPUT jacks.

Short the free ends of the cables together using the SMA F/F adapter.

Enable REL on the Model 2010 set residual resistance to a null value. Leave REL enabled
for the entire test.

Remove the SMA F/F adapter.

Connect the cables to the switch common port and port under test.

Close the switch port.

Note the resistance reading on the Model 2010, verifying that it is <0.3

Open the switch.

Note the resistance reading on the Model 2010, verifying that it indicates an open circuit.

13.

Repeat measurements for all switch ports.

RF performance verification

Use a vector network analyzer (VNA) to verify switch RF performance. Refer to VNA operating
instructions. Relay specifications are listed in the product specifications located on the Keithley
Instruments website (
