Details
Reading this attribute gives the output-off mode of the source. Setting this attribute configures the SMU output-off
mode.
The default
sourceOffMode
is
smu
X
.OUTPUT_NORMAL
. In this mode, the source function will be configured
according to the
smu
X
.source.offfunc
attribute. The
smu
X
.source.offfunc
attribute controls whether the
SMU is configured as a 0 V voltage source or a 0 A current source. When the SMU is operating as a 0 A current
source, the
smu
X
.source.offlimitv
attribute sets the voltage limit, just as the
smu
X
.source.offlimiti
attribute sets the current limit when the SMU is operating as a 0 V voltage source.
When the offmode is set to
smu
X
.OUTPUT_ZERO
, the source will be configured to output 0 V just as
smu
X
.OUTPUT_NORMAL
mode with
smu
X
.source.offfunc = smu
X
.OUTPUT_DCVOLTS
. If the source
function is voltage, the current limit will not be changed. If the source function is current, the current limit will be
set to the current source level or 10 percent of the current source range, whichever is greater.
When offmode is set to
smu
X
.OUTPUT_HIGH_Z
, the SMU will open the output relay when the output is turned
off.
Example
smua.source.offmode = smua.OUTPUT_HIGH_Z
Sets the output-off operation for
SMU channel A to open the output
relay when the output is turned off.

smu
X
.source.output =
sourceOutput
sourceOutput
The source's output state setting; set to one of the following values:
0
or
smu
X
.OUTPUT_OFF
: Turns off the source output
1
or
smu
X
.OUTPUT_ON
: Turns on the source output
2
or
smu
X
.OUTPUT_HIGH_Z
: Turns off the output in high Z mode (allows you to go
to high Z mode without first setting the
smu
X
.source.offmode
attribute to
smu
X
.OUTPUT_HIGH_Z
).

smua.source.output
applies
to SMU channel A)
