Failure diagnosis procedure when the engine fails to start or start difficultly

Check the ignition system
Remove the spark plug, check the electrodes of spark plug are
carbon connected
Do the spark plug spark over test
To clean out carbon
Faint or no spark between electrodes
Strong blue or bluish violet spark from the electrodes
Screw off the spark plug cap, do high-voltage wire spark over tes

Use ignition timing light to test whether engine ignition is timing
