6.3 CHANGING THE DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS
Turn on the D-KAT and press the function button for more than 3 seconds. The display will
flash briefly. Release the function button: ‘dP’ (decimal point) or ‘ndP’ (no decimal point) will
be displayed.
Press the function again for more than 3 seconds, the display will flash and once the function
button is released, the display will show ‘L’ together with 0, 1, 2 or 3. Press the function button
briefly to toggle to the desired display brightness.
Note: The D-KAT will return to the main display at any time if the function button is not pressed within the timings
listed above.
6.4 BATTERY STATUS
If “bat” appears in the display when switching on instead of a numerical value, the battery
should be replaced immediately. The battery should be replaced using a 1.5V AA Alkaline type.
7. MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
7.1 INSTALLATION ON TO THE SLIT LAMP
1. Secure the tonometer mount onto the slit lamp using the provided large locking screw.
2. Place the ZKAT onto the tonometer mount.
3. Look through the slit lamp with 10x magnification and adjust the position of the ZKAT
in the left/right and up/down orientations until the prism is concentric to the viewing
optics. Secure the ZKAT by tightening the 4 set screws on the side of the ZKAT
4. Turn the provided spirit level ON and place on top of the ZKAT. Wait for the level to settle
and determine whether the tonometer is level.
5. If the ZKAT is not level, unscrew the large setting screw ¼ to ½ of a turn. If the level
indicates that the tonometer is elevated, then screw in the rear set screw. If the level
indicates that the tonometer is in a declined position, then screw in the front set screw.
