Getting Ready

Before attaching the battery pack, make sure that
the au IC-Card is inserted securely. If the card is not
completely inserted, that may lead to au IC-Card or
battery pack damage.
Failure to follow the correct procedures when attaching
the battery pack may result in damage to the battery
pack or battery pack cover.
If the battery pack cover is forcibly pushed with fingers
with the tabs of the battery pack cover attached on the
battery pack, the tabs may be damaged.

Charging the Battery Pack

The battery pack is not fully charged at the time of purchase.
Be sure to charge the battery pack before using the cell
phone for the first time.

An AC adapter is not included. Purchase a specified AC
adapter (sold separately).

Connect a specified AC adapter to the cell
phone with the battery pack attached.

Open the external connection jack cover. Check the
shape of the connector of the AC adapter, and plug it
straight into the external connection jack.

Unfold the power plug of the AC adapter and
plug it into a 100 V AC power outlet.

Confirm that the LED indicator lights.

Charging starts: A charge beginning beep sounds and
the LED indicator lights.
Charging finished: A charge completion beep sounds
and the LED indicator goes out.

Be sure to close the external connection jack cover
when charging is finished.
Do not pull or twist the external connection jack cover
forcibly.
Be sure to use the common AC adapter 02 (sold
separately) when charging overseas.
