EN

• The hooks should be perpendicular to the
direction of swinging – a person standing
in front of the swing should be able to see
through the hooks. Otherwise the hooks
will be subjected to excessive wear.
• If you are unsure how the swing should
be assembled in a safe way, consult an
expert.
• Only use approved hanger parts that can
withstand the weight and strain caused
by the swing.
POSITIONING
• Do not place the swing on a hard surface,
such as concrete or asphalt.
• The surface under the swing must as far
as possible be soft and level. Follow the
recommendations concerning shock
absorbing material and depth of fill.
IMPORTANT:
• The minimum distance between the
surface and the seats is 0.35 m, and the
maximum distance is 55 cm.
• The minimum permitted distance in the
direction of swinging is 2 metres,
measured from the front and back of the
arc formed by the seat when in use.
• The minimum distance between the
seats and between the seats and any
part of the swing is 0.30 m.
FIG. 6
• Expander plugs must be used if the
hooks are mounted in a concrete roof
and the roof must have a safe and
supportable capacity. The diameter of
the expander plugs must be at least
12 mm, with a length of at least 60 mm.
• Wood screw hooks must not be used for
suspension in wood. Use through hooks
with a flat washer and nut, or a
suspension that encircles the wooden
stud, to ensure safe suspension.
ASSEMBLY
1. Adjust the two ropes on the swing, it is
important that the ropes are adjusted to
the same length.
2. Lock the ropes with the metal clip.
FIG. 2
3. Thread the two metal rings on the swing
in each hook.
4. The distance between the suspension
points should be calculated as in the
example,
A= 0.04 h + B
A: the distance between the hooks.
B: the distance between the seat and
suspension points.
h: the distance between the surface and
the hooks.
FIG. 3
1.
For safe suspension in accordance with
the standard EN 71-8 the swing should be
mounted as per:
1. Swing unit
2. Crossbar
3. Hanger
4. Hanger
5. Link
6. Swing unit (e.g. seat, rings, rod,
gondola)
FIG. 4
2. Now fit the hooks with flat washers and
lock nuts. Tap the hook in place in the
hole with a wooden mallet.
FIG. 5
NOTE:
• The rope must have a diameter of at
least 10 mm.
• The hooks for the suspension ropes
should be crooked at least 540 degrees,
to avoid the risk of a rope unhooking
and releasing from the hook when in
use. The material diameter of the hooks
should be at least 10 mm.
