6 Reprocessing steps in accordance with ISO 17664
NOTE
The following reprocessing procedures apply to SONICflex tips, torque wrench
and nozzle pin.
6.1 Preparations at the site of use
WARNING
Hazard from contaminated products.
Contaminated products are associated with an infection hazard.

Take suitable personal protective measures.
NOTE
Do not place the tips in the drill bit bath since, otherwise, the fine capillaries
can no longer be rinsed under running water leading to strong corrosion.
NOTE
If you use sterile coolant liquid, the SONICflex tips must be rinsed with spray
water after each use in order to prevent crystallisation in the tips.

Reprocess the medical device as soon as possible after treatment.

The medical device must be dry when transported to reprocessing.

To minimise the risk of infection during reprocessing, always wear protect-
ive gloves.

Use the torque wrench to remove the tip from the SONICflex.

Remove all residual cement, composite or blood immediately.

Do not place in solutions or similar substances.

Reprocess theSONICflex instrument in accordance with the instructions for
use of the manufacturer.
6.2 Manual Reprocessing
CAUTION
Cleaning in the ultrasonic unit.
Malfunction and material damage.

Do not clean the device in the ultrasonic unit.
6.2.1 Manual external cleaning
Accessories required:

▪ Nozzle pin
▪ Brush, e.g. medium-hard toothbrush

Brush the SONICflex tip, e.g. with a medium-hard toothbrush, under run-
ning tap water.

If necessary, clear the water passage at the tip with a nozzle needle.
