Malfunction
Cause
Remedy
Equipment is out of order
No mains supply
▶ Switch on at the mains.
▶ Provide power supply or check
the plug-in connections.
▶ Switch on main switch.
▶ Check the main fuse in the
mains socket outlet and replace
if necessary.
Projector lamp fails to illuminate du‐
ring scanning.
Faulty projector lamp
▶ Have a service technician re‐
place the lamp.
Measurement cannot be made.
Initialisation failure
Faulty rotate/tilt mechanism
No more space available on hard
drive
Internal temperature too high
Severe vibrations
Misaligned camera or projector len‐
ses
▶ Restart measurement.
▶ Check the rotate/tilt mechanism
and contact a service technici‐
an.
▶ Archive the data by saving to CD
or equivalent data carrier or de‐
lete from hard drive.
▶ Reduce ambient temperature.
▶ Test ventilator and repair if ne‐
cessary.
▶ Do not jolt the equipment.
▶ Readjust KaVo Everest Scan.
▶ Contact a service technician.
Surface scanned in poorly (grainy
image, parts missing)
The surface reflects too much or is
too transparent
The surroundings in the measuring
device are too bright
The object is outside of the measu‐
ring range
▶ Use suitable plaster or stump
varnish and modelling wax.
▶ Keep the door closed while
measuring.
▶ Check position of object, correc‐
ting if necessary.
