ARCUS®digma Handheld. 

A 6.10 EPA Test

The programme “EPA“ 

1

can be selected

by using the function keys 

.

Press the footswitch or the “OK“  button.
Request “opening“ appears.

Press footswitch or “OK“ while the patient
opens the lower jaw wide, and then closes.

Release the footswitch or “OK“ button.

“Protusion“ appears on the display.

Press footswitch or “OK“ while the patient
moves the lower jaw forwards as far as
possible and then back, under tooth contact.

Release the footswitch or “OK“ button.

ARCUSdigma - Handheld can compare two
lower-jaw positions of choice

The first measurement can be compared
with 9 further measurements. 

Example 1
Evaluation of a centric registration

-  the operator guides the patient into the 

desired bite position. 

-  Press footswitch or OK.  

The ARCUSdigma Handheld stores, as a
3D display, the position 
of the kinematic axis in the “Zero“ position
(centre of the circle).

Make the centric registration in the usual
way and 

replace in the mouth, then ask the patient to
bite down.

The lower jaw is orientated to the upper jaw
via the registration.

Press the footswitch or “OK“ button.

The display will show if the centric
registration does not locate the lower jaw in
the desired final bite position.

Any deviation is graphically displayed by
rings

and can be read off in

millimetres from the top line.

The direction of the displacement is
illustrated by an arrow
