The infrared sensor (lens) is the most important and most fragile part of the thermometer, please take care of it.

Clean the lens with a cotton cloth, moistened with water or

Only use recommended batteries, do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries and do not thrown in fire.

Remove batteries when the thermometer will not be used for an extended period of time.

Check the batteries (polarity, usage)
The

Change the batteries. Check that the polarity is correct when replacing. Incorrect polarity could damage the device.
Results are not read aloud
If the batteries are flat Voice mode will go into power save mode and will not read out the results.
Check the batteries.
