As explained earlier, in a cooling step, the two crucible-related parameters are not
used to control the crucible rocking motion, but rather to control the straightening
up of the crucible heater, after the pouring.
Typically, the tilting angle of “Cooling 1” will be the same as the pouring (typically
120°), and the tilting angle of “Cooling 2” will be ninety degrees (90°). This will
give some time for the flux to pour completely out of the mold during “Cooling 1”,
while letting any residual droplet solidify on the crucible’s rim during “Cooling 2”.
Solution
programs
To create a fusion dedicated to making solutions, the best is to either directly use
the “Solutions” program, or create a copy of it if parameter edition is required.
Alternatively, it is possible to simply set the pouring step’s mold temperature to
20°C, to activate the solution mode.
On-the-fly
editing
During a fusion, it is also possible to edit parameters on the fly, that is, while the
fusion program is running.
To do so, simply edit parameters as explained in the previous paragraphs (from
page 27 onwards).
Note, however, that there are logical limitations, and the firmware will
automatically limit the accepted parameter range to prevent nonsensical or error-
causing combinations.
