5.2.2 Footrests Adjustment
5.2.2.1 The footrest assemblies can be swung-away and detached. The footplates
can also be flipped up.
5.2.2.2 To swing-away and/or detach the footrests, pull the swing-away lever
inwards and the footrest will swing outwards. (See Figures 5.8) At this point
you can lift the footrest assembly off of the mounting posts. The dome
studs are the mounting posts for the elevating footrest assembly.
5.2.2.3 To attach the footrest assembly, set the two holes on the opposite end from
the footplate over the dome studs and rotate the footrest assembly inward
to lock it in place. Attach the other footrest in the same manner.
5.2.2.4 The footplates can be flipped-up to make transferring in and out of the
wheelchair easier, though you can also swing-away the entire footrest
when you transfer.
5.2.2.5 Your footplate length should be adjusted according to your calf length. Go
to your service provider for adjustment or use the Allen Wrench included in
your KARMA Tool Kit to loosen the screws at the under the footplate. (See
Figures 5.9) Then, adjust it to the desired length, and retighten the screws.
(See Figures 5.10) Karma suggests that the distance between the lowest
point of the footplate and the floor is at least 5 cm.

CAUTION
●When adjusting the footrest or the footplates, the user's legs should be
supported or kept safe from possible injury.
