4.13 Caster Angle Adjustment
Please put the wheelchair on a flat table while adjusting in order to ensure
the accuracy.
4.13.1 Make sure the caster adapter is 90 degrees to the ground.
4.13.2 Once you adjust the seat height, front caster, rear wheel and the center
of gravity position, please make sure the caster adapter is 90 degrees
to the ground.
4.13.3 Rotate both forks so that the casters are towards the rear of the
wheelchair. Place a square or pocket level against the flat surface on
the rear of the fork and note whether this surface is vertical. If this
surface is more than 2 degrees away from vertical, your casters require
re-squaring. (See Figure 4.17)
4.13.4 Use the tool to loosen the screws and nuts on the caster adapter. (See
Figure 4.18)
4.13.5 Adjust the caster adapter to 90 degrees toward the ground.
4.13.6 Place a square or pocket level against the flat surface on the rear of the
fork and note whether this surface is vertical. (See Figure 4.51)
4.13.7 Place the eccentric hexagonal pads in the appropriate direction, and
lock the screws and nuts of the front caster adapter. (See Figure 4.52)
