The unit switches off automatically:
After 10 minutes if the cabin temperature exceeds 85°C for more than 10
minutes.
After the maximum operating time of 4 hours.
Switching off the vaporizer tank
The vaporizer will cut out automatically in the following cases:
• If the water has boiled away and the integral thermostatic switch cuts out.
• If the unit is switched on without any water in the tank.
• If there is excessive limescale on the hot plate (see Descaling).
After the thermostatic switches have cut out:
The thermostatic switch will cut in again automatically in the following cases:
• If cold water is poured into the vaporizer tank.
• If the vaporizer tank is removed from the contact for approx. 15 seconds and
then put back on.
• If the humidity controller is shut down for at least 15 seconds.
Overheating cutout
The vaporizer has a thermal fuse.
The thermal fuse can trip if the unit overheats, e.g. if very badly affected by
limescale. It has to be reset manually. To do this, remove the vaporizer tank
and locate the type plate with the RESET arrow marking on the base. Push a
pin with max. Ø 3mm through the type plate and press down the thermal fuse
behind it. If the fuse has tripped, it will be heard to click back into place when
pressed.
Scale formation in the tank
Scale may form in the tank and on the hot plate depending on the hardness of
the water being evaporated.
The vaporizer must therefore be cleaned and descaled at regular intervals
depending on the hardness of the water, but after no more than 10 bio
sessions. Limescale on hot plates restricts the efficiency of the vaporizer and
increases its power consumption and, in severe cases, can cause the
