Step 3A

Transit Connect
•
Choose the four desired
mounting locations from the
roof of the van.
•
Remove the plugs from the
roof in ONLY the four desired
mounting locations to expose
the holes.
•
Place sealant around the exposed holes in the roof between the rubber pieces to prevent
water from leaking into the cargo area.
•
Bolt through the foot into the exposed holes in the roof using a M8 x 30mm hex head, a
M8 flat washer, three-hole rubber pad on top of the roof, a round rubber washer, a fender
washer and a M8 nyloc nut on the inside of van. The roof goes in between the two rubber
pieces. The rubber pad with the three holes goes on the roof of the vehicle.
•
Repeat on both ends of the cross bar and on both cross bars.
•
Snug tighten, but allow movement.
