Pick up the rear halve of the case and fit the BNC
Socket and the power socket. The BNC will only
fit one way, the Power Socket needs to be
positioned as the picture here. Now tin with
solder the connections, again being careful when
applying heat as you can easily damage them.
Now remove the knurled nuts from the
paddle/Audio sockets that are located on the
PCB. And put them safely to one side.
Now offer both halves of the case together so
that the two Jack sockets meet with the two
hole in the bottom half of the case.
Now carefully solder the Antenna and power
supply wires as per the picture below. These
are fairly stiff, so care needs to be taken when
you carry out the following stage, so as not to
damage the PCB.
Please Note: The Lithium Battery (CR1225) can be fitted at this stage if supplied.
Once you are happy that you have good
secure joints and have not made any
splashes on the PCB, all that is required to do
now is carefully offer the Jack sockets further
into the holes and close the two half’s of the
case together. Using the two small screws to
hold them together. Finally fit the 4 small
stick on rubber feet.
Now you need to read the MTR-5B manual for the setting up procedure
.
