SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in,
or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
•
The electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least 16 ampere. An extension
cord of less than 16 ampere could overheat and get damaged.
•
The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
USE
•
Protective coating burn off will cause smoking on first use. This is NOT harmful and will
disappear after a short time. Therefore it is recommended to let your appliance work
empty for 10 minutes before the first use with the thermostat in its maximum position.
•
When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plates with a damp cloth, then dry.
•
Close the appliance and plug into the electrical outlet. Select the cooking temperature
using the thermostat knob. The red pilot light and the green ready light will come on to
indicate that the appliance is switched on and heating.
•
The green ready light will go out when the cooking temperature is reached. During use,
this ready light will come on and off regularly. This simply means that the thermostat is
regulating the appliance's temperature.
•
When the appliance has reached the right temperature, open it by lifting the upper plate
with the handle.
•
Attention: during operation, the baking plates heat up. Pay attention not to get burned.
•
The non-stick coating allows you not to make use of grease or oil for most foods. For low-
fat foods such as fish or vegetables, you can grease the grill plate, but if the fish or
vegetables are marinated, it is not necessary.
BAKING FOOD DIRECTLY IN THE APPLIANCE
•
When the appliance has reached the temperature, open the lid and if necessary lightly
brush the bottom baking plate with butter, margarine or cooking oil. Since the appliance
has a non-stick coated surface, the use of butter or oil is optional.
•
Now put the foodstuffs on the bottom baking plate and close the appliance again.
•
The baking times vary according to the nature of the foodstuffs and to your personal taste.
Do not forget to turn the food regularly.
•
When the foods are ready, remove them from the grill and put them in the appropriate
dish. Do not use any sharp or metal utensils to remove them from the grill, as this might
damage the non-stick coating. Use a wooden or plastic spatula.
•
When you have finished baking, put the thermostat in minimum position "0", unplug the
appliance and leave it open so that the baking plates can cool down.
BAKING WITH THE SILICONE MOULDS
•
When using the appliance with the silicone moulds, it is not necessary to grease the
baking plate.
•
Fill the silicone mould with your preparation, put the mould on the bottom baking plate
and close the appliance again.
•
The baking times vary according to the nature of the foodstuffs and to your personal taste.
•
Use an oven glove to remove the silicone mould.
•
When you have finished baking, put the thermostat in minimum position "0", unplug the
appliance and leave it open so that the baking plates can cool down.
To increase the capacity of your "oven" you can use the extension ring that is delivered with
your appliance.
If you wish to use the extension ring on the appliance, it is necessary to adapt the height of the
upper part of the appliance with the adjustable hinge.
