Using and handling batteries
Please note the following safety instructions for handling batteries. Bat-
teries can leak or explode, releasing toxic or corrosive substances, result-
ing in injury or significant damage to objects.
!
Never charge non-rechargeable batteries, as this poses an explosion
hazard as well as damage resulting from leaking acid.
!
Charge rechargeable batteries using only chargers that are suitable
and that have been tested for this purpose. Otherwise, the battery
may pose a fire hazard.
!
Charge batteries only at ambient temperatures between 0 to +40°C /
32 to +104°F.
!
Do not bridge the contacts of batteries with electrically conductive
material and do not plunge batteries into water or other liquids. A
short circuit between the battery contacts can cause burns and/or fire.
!
Do not open, modify or destroy batteries, and do not subject them to
unnecessary jolts, direct sunlight, fire, microwaves, extreme pressure
or temperatures above 50°C / 122°F. Do not store batteries in hot lo-
cations.
!
Do not use batteries that are leaky, discolored, deformed or are dam-
aged in any other way.
!
Improper use can cause fluid leakage. Leaking battery fluid can cause
skin irritation or burns. Avoid contact with leaked fluid. In case of ac-
cidental contact, rinse with water and seek medical assistance.
!
Improper handling poses the risk of short-circuit or even explosion.
Harmful vapors can escape and irritate the airways. Seek fresh air,
and get medical attention if complaints persist.
!
Dispose of depleted batteries and defective equipment
according to statutory regulations.
