Intendend use
The Kaleas CarDVR (Digital Video Recorder) is a camera which is used to
record digital sequences record on a memory card. The device is at-
tached to the vehicle windscreen by means of a bracket so that it can
record traffic situations. The power supply is provided via the included
charging cable by a 12V or 24V on-board voltage socket outlet.
The lithium ion accumulator buffers the camera's electrical supply so
that it can be used for a short time outside of the vehicle as a video
camera.
Concept design of the CarDVR
When in operation, the Kaleas CarDVR traces individual video sequenc-
es of 2, 5 or 15 minutes in length with or without sound and saves
them on the SD memory card. If the storage space on the card is full,
the oldest video sequences will be overwritten in chronological order by
the current recording. Individual adaptations can be made to the re-
cordings by means of different settings. The memory requirement de-
pends on the selected video format.
The wide angle of the lens makes it possible to obtain a correspondingly
wide recording of the traffic situation. Recordings may also be made at
night thanks to the integrated infra-red diodes.
The electricity supply is provided via the vehicle's 12V or 24 V on-board
network which means that the camera switches on automatically pro-
vided that the supply to the on-board socket is switched on via the igni-
tion.
