GETTING STARTED
The following steps will help you to get your JD-VD745 ready for use.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
1. Begin by locating the Battery Pack and the Power Supply Switching Adapter.

connector) is also lit. If RED, the battery is in need of a charge and is being charged.
If GREEN, the battery is fully charged, and further charging is not necessary,
although no harm will be done to the battery if charging is continued.
5. You cannot overcharge the battery. If you prefer, you may keep the battery charged,
whether separated or attached to the DVD player (see below).
NOTE:For extended periods of non-use, however, store the battery,
disconnected from its charger, in a cool and dry place.
INSTALLING THE BATTERY ON THE DVD PLAYER
1. Be sure the unit is OFF by checking that its POWER ON/OFF switch (item 4 on
page 6) is in the OFF position.
2. With the battery properly charged as described above, disconnect it from the
charger and orient it as shown on page 3.
3. To prevent possible damage to the LCD display, close its lid (if it is open) until it
latches. Refer to the illustration at the upper right of page 6, and place the battery at
the rear of the unit so that the two protrusions on the inner vertical surface of the
battery align with the two slots at the rear of the unit. Once done, slide the battery

USING THE JD-VD745 WITHOUT THE BATTERY
1. The unit can be used without the battery. Turn the unit off and remove the battery
as described above.
2. Plug the AC adapter's circular connector into the unit's DC IN 9V jack (item 25 on
page 6. If necessary, plug the other end of the AC adapter into a working wall outlet.
3. Operate your unit as described in this manual.
