1-16 (No.YF183)
3.2.3 DISASSEMBLY OF [16] OP BLOCK ASSY/CCD BOARD ASSY
z
Precautions
(1) Be careful in handling the CCD IMAGE SENSOR, OPTICAL
LPF and the LENS components.
Pay special attention to the surfaces to protect them from
stains, dust, or scratches.
If the surfaces are soiled with finger prints or other stains,
wipe them off with silicon paper,
clean chamois leather, or recommended cleaning cloth.
(2) The CCD IMAGE SENSOR may have been shipped with
a protective sheet attached to the transmitting glass.
When replacing the CCD IMAGE SENSOR, do not peel
off this sheet from the new part until immediately before
it is mounted in the OP BLOCK ASSY.
z
Disassembly of OP BLOCK ASSY / CCD BOARD ASSY
(1) Remove the screw (1) to release the FPC.
NOTE16a:
When attaching, be careful not to fix the FPC tight with
the screw but give some play.
After tightening the screw, check if the FPC is mov-
able.
(2) Remove the screw (2), and then remove the HEAT SINK
(CCD).
NOTE16b:
Be careful in handling the parts.
NOTE16c:
When attaching, turn the SHIELD upward over the
HEAT SINK (CCD), and then tighten them with a
screw.
NOTE16d:
Be careful in handling the exclusive gel (heat com-
pound) that is applied to the back of the HEAT SINK
(CCD).
When the gel runs short due to part replacement, pre-
pare and apply new gel.
Apply the exclusive gel (heat compound) more than
3mm thick to each of the two marked areas on the
back of the HEAT SINK (CCD).
(3) Remove the two screws (3,4), and then remove the CCD
BOARD ASSY and the CCD BASE ASSY.
NOTE16e:
When removing the CCD BASE ASSY, be careful in
handling as the CCD IMAGE SENSOR may be re-
moved together with the SHEET and the OP LPF at-
tached.
NOTE16f:
Be careful in handling the CCD BASE ASSY as this
CCD BASE ASSY is surface mounted unlike previous
models.
When handling the CCD BOARD ASSY or removing
the FPC with the CCD BASE ASSY mounted, always
hold the side of the CCD BOARD ASSY to prevent
part detachment.
(4) Remove the SHEET and OP LPF.
NOTE16g:
When attaching the OP LPF, be careful with the at-
tachment direction.
(5) Unsolder the 28 soldered points (SD16a) on the CCD
BOARD ASSY, and then remove the CCD BASE ASSY.
NOTE16h:
Replace the CCD IMAGE SENSOR as a CCD BASE
ASSY, not as a single part replacement.
NOTE16j:
When removing the HOLDER (CCD), remove the two
screws (1,2) and the HEAT SINK (CCD) first as the
HOLDER (OP) is attached to the HEAT SINK (CCD).
z
Replacement of service repair parts
The service repair parts on the OP BLOCK ASSY are as follows.
When replacing parts, be careful not to cut the FPCs or dam-
age any parts by soldering (excessive heat).
(1) FOCUS MOTOR UNIT
(2) ZOOM MOTOR UNIT
(3) IRIS MOTOR UNIT
(4) ND FILTER UNIT
NOTE 16k:
When replacing the FOCUS MOTOR UNIT or the ZOOM
MOTOR UNIT, solder the FPC at a space of about 0.5 mm
above the terminal pin.
NOTE 16m:
During the procedure, be careful in handling as the ND FILTER
UNIT is soldered to the IRIS MOTOR UNIT.
NOTE 16n:
The IRIS MOTOR UNIT includes the FPC ASSY and two
sensors.
