Juniper will continue to expand its network operations portfolio
with applications to automate the management of campus,
data center, security, and cloud infrastructures. Other planned
Juniper-developed applications will include Campus Builder,
an application to quickly design and deploy campus network
topologies and services, Security Designer, an application to
quickly and easily design, test and deploy rich security policies
across entire network infrastructures and Cloud Creator to design
and deploy various cloud services and infrastructures like virtual
fabrics, platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service.
Third-Party Developer Applications
Third parties and enterprises that build applications on top of the
Junos Space platform enjoy many advantages in addition to the
development environment. These include the reuse of the Junos
Space runtime fabric for better utilization of processing resources,
the security of communication and data persistence, and the
usability and flexibility of the Web UI.
Productivity Applications
Junos Space helps third-party developers create applications such
as smart metering aggregation for remote metering, collection,
and aggregation to enable endpoint rollout and monitoring that
can be offered as a managed service or a standalone application.
Junos Space also supports the development of online Web
applications for personal and workplace productivity, or “my
network” applications to synchronize bookmarks, contacts,
passwords, etc., across devices and identities.
Collaboration Applications
Juniper’s developers and partners can leverage Junos Space to
build applications like SMS multicast for private branded white
box twitter applications for user communities, or online/remote
meeting tools for secure meetings and collaboration across
distributed sites.

congruent navigation steps and screen flows without
context switches
• Persona-oriented system views and workflows
• Workflow automations for common tasks
• Progressive disclosure for contextual view of the
network
• Identity-based navigational flows and consistent user
experience that increases user productivity, eliminates
error prone manual operations, and speeds up
operation cycle times
• Lower OpEx due to reduced requirement for highly
skilled personnel, and reduced training and support
costs due to consistent interface and workflow
automation
Hot-pluggable/multitenant
applications
• Hosted applications that can be hot-plugged into
Junos Space platform via global dashboard
• Applications that leverage global platform capabilities
but maintain their unique identities
• Rapid deployment of applications and devices
• In-service application and device updates to increase
uptime and business continuity
Application fabric
• Distributed fabric of IP-connected physical or virtual
appliances of pre-assembled, near-identical full
application stacks, including the complete Junos
Space software to enable each appliance to provide
full management functionality
• End users are able to access management
applications through a single, public virtual IP
• Fabric that is deployed in active/active cluster
configuration
• Instant scale by simply adding or deleting nodes on
the fabric
• Increased application availability and resilience due to
no single point of failure
• Resource optimization due to each node being fully
utilized and load-balanced with others in the fabric
Network operations
• Software Image Management:
Ability to do remote
software upgrades and in-service software upgrades
• Inventory Management:
Automated collection
of inventory data from Juniper routers, and device
inventory views of physical and logical inventory of
supported devices, allowing users to generate reports
and track locations, availability, and deployment of
hardware, software, and licenses
• Junoscript Management:
Configuration and
management of Junos scripts
• Zero downtime maintenance to increase application
and service availability
• Holistic development environment, real-time discovery
and reporting of complete device inventory, enabling
network operators to maximize resource utilization,
increase asset reliability, and the return on their
networking assets
