6.2 Setting the time zone
The Junghans multi-frequency radio-controlled solar watch receives
the signal of DCF77, JJY40, JJY60 and WWVB. This means that the
watch reliably displays summer and winter time in the transmission
areas (exception WWVB, see chapter 3.).
In other time zones without radio reception the local time can be set
manually by pressing button T2 in hourly steps.
By holding down the T2 button you can fast forward to set the local
time. The hands run parallel to the setting. The date is also adjusted
automatically during the setting process.
If you wish to return the time display to the original time, press button
T2 until the original time is reached again.
6.3 Quartz mode
To set the time manually, press both buttons for longer than 3 seconds
(or until the display is extinguished in the LC display). Once the hands
have reached the 12 o’clock position, press the T1 button. The watch is
now in quartz mode.
Quartz mode is indicated with display of the respective year [
99
]. This
display goes up one year each time the T2 button is pressed. Hold the
T2 button pressed to initiate the rapid adjustment. After entering the
current year, confirm by pressing the T1 button briefly. The display
switches to adjustment of the month [
¡ ™
] in the LC display. Once again,
the T2 button is used for this setting. Confirm the selected month by
pressing the T1 button briefly. Perform the following settings as descri-
bed in the schematic drawing above:
– Setting of the date, the display changes in the LC display [
£ ¡
] (or last
day in the month)
– Hour setting, the display changes in the LC display [
™£
]
– Minute setting, the display changes in the LC display [
∞ª
]
Note: To ensure a time display in the LC display which is precise to the
second, set the next full minute and confirm the entry with the T1 but-
ton when it reaches 60. Seconds using a reference watch.
After setting the minute and confirming with the T1 button, the hands
of the multi-frequency radio-controlled solar movement turn to the
programmed time. The date is displayed in the LC display. Press the
T2 button again for longer than 3 seconds to adjust the programmed
time.
Please note: The manual setting procedure must be fully completed
before the watch is once again operational. No reception attempts
are carried out automatically in quartz mode. Manual synchronisation
is possible at any time. A successful synchronisation overwrites the
manually set time and the watch performs an automatic time syn-
chronisation again.
