Note:
• Clean the blades and wheels often for best functionality and lifespan.
• Do not set longer times than necessary for the actual lawn, for best
battery life and useful life of the robotic lawn mower.
• Do not mow at temperatures lower than 10°C for best battery life. At
low temperatures the battery discharges quicker and must be
charged more often.
• Avoid sharp turns and make sure the border wire is not bent or
crossed.
• Save the packaging for future transportation.
• Do not mow the lawn shorter than 4 cm. The cuttings will not
manage to decompose within 1 week.
• Keep the charging plate and pin clean for best charging functionality.
• Apply grease on the connections on the back of the charging station
for better contact and to prevent corrosion.
MAINTENANCE
• Check and clean the robotic lawn mower regularly, with a brush or
cloth.
• Repair or replace any damaged parts. Never pour water on the
robotic lawn mower.
Battery life
The robotic lawn mower has a maintenance-free lithium battery with an
estimated lifespan of at least 2 years, depending on usage. The battery
is easy to take out from the robotic lawn mower. Fully charge the battery,
take it out and store indoors during the winter. The battery should be
recharged every 3 months to maintain its useful life.
CLEANING
• Keep the robotic lawn mower clean. The robotic lawn mower can
handle slopes better if the wheels are clean, and the blades mow
better if they are clean and sharp.
• Switch off the robotic lawn mower with the main switch before
cleaning and wear safety gloves when touching the blades. Never use
a high-pressure washer or running water.
• Be careful when cleaning the casing. The electronic components can
stop working if they are exposed to water. Clean with a soft brush and
water with a mild detergent, or wipe with a damp cloth.
Cleaning the underside
NOTE:
•
Always switch off the robotic lawn mower with the main switch
before cleaning.
•
Wear safety gloves when touching the blades and blade plate.
Place the robotic lawn mower on its side and clean the blade plate and
chassis with a soft brush or damp cloth. Turn the blade plate to check that
it rotates freely and check that the blades turn smoothly.
FIG. 32
Cleaning the contact pin and charging plate
• Remove grass, leaves and any debris round the contact pin and
charging plate for best charging functionality.
• Clean the charging plate and pin with steel wool, a wire brush or fine
sandpaper.
BLADES
WARNING!
•
Always switch off the robotic lawn mower with the main switch
before cleaning.
•
Wear safety gloves when touching the blades and blade plate.
• There are three blades on the blade plate. If the blades do not strike
any obstacles they will remain sharp for 5 months, even if the robotic
lawn mower is programmed to mow every day. Replace the blades
when they are worn. A set of spare blades is included.
• Spare blades are also sold by the dealer. If the blades or screws are
worn or damaged, always replace the complete set to avoid
imbalance. Only use blades and spare parts recommended by the
manufacturer to ensure safe and effective mowing.
Reversing the blades
Each blade has two edges, which means they can be turned round once
before they need to be replaced.
1. Undo the retaining screw for each blade.
2. Turn round the blade and replace.
3. Tighten the retaining screw.
Turn round, or replace all three blades at the same time. Regularly check
that the blades are not blunt or damaged.
Replacing the blades
NOTE:
•
Always switch off the robotic lawn mower with the main switch.
•
Wear safety gloves when touching the blades.
1. Turn the lawn mower upside down and unscrew the retaining screws
with a screwdriver.
2. Fit the new blades firmly with the old screws.
3. Check that the new blades can rotate freely.
FIG. 33
BATTERY
Battery life is 1 – 5 years, depending on use.
Replacing the battery
1. Set the lowest mowing height.
2. Unscrew the 5 screws holding the battery cover. One of the screws is
only accessible through a hole in the blade plate.
3. Take out and disconnect the battery.
4. Connect the new battery.
