Warning levels
The appliance uses the following warning levels.
Low level
0.0 is shown in the display with a green backlight if the measured alcohol content in
the blood is less than 0.1‰.
Value for safe
level
If the measured alcohol content in the blood is between low level (> 0.1‰) and the
warning level, the measured value is shown in the display with a green backlight.
Warning level
If the measured alcohol content in the blood is less than 0.1 ‰ lower than the
warning level, the appliance will emit an audio signal and HI and the symbol for DO
NOT DRIVE will flash alternately. The red backlight flashes 6 times.
Do not drive – the measured alcohol content in the blood falls within the appliance's
tolerance from the warning level.
Warning level
If the measured alcohol content in the blood is the same as or higher than the
warning level, the appliance will emit an audio signal and the symbol for DO NOT
DRIVE will flash. The red backlight flashes 10 times. The measured alcohol content
in the blood is shown together with the symbol for
DO NOT DRIVE
, and the red
backlight stays on. If the measured alcohol content in the blood is higher than 1.5‰,
HI and the symbol for
DO NOT DRIVE
flash alternately. Press the status button to
switch off the audio signal.
The alcohol content in the blood exceeds the warning level – Do not drive!
NOTE:
1.
Before measuring, check that LO is shown in the display to indicate that there is no alcohol in the
measuring chamber. If LO is not shown, start the appliance by pressing the
START
button. Press
and hold the
START
button and blow in pure air (not exhaled air) into the nozzle for a few seconds,
or wave the appliance backwards and forwards to ventilate the measuring chamber before starting
a new measurement.

After 4 consecutive measurements the appliance should be switched off for at least 2 minutes.
3. If
the
START
button is not pressed for at least 6 seconds, Er will flash in the display for 5 seconds
and an audio signal will be heard. Press any button to switch off the audio signal.

Store the appliance in a dry place when not in use.

Replace the batteries immediately if the battery indicator starts flashing. The appliance will not
produce a correct result if the batteries are discharged.
6.
Repeat the measurement if the difference between two consecutive measurements is greater than
0.1‰.
