Function test - walking test
The floodlight has an automatic light sensor that sets the PIR sensor in standby mode at brightnesses of
over 60 lux, i.e. daylight. In order to test the unit in daylight there is a small LED behind the lens. This
LED starts to shine when the PIR sensor detects a heat source in motion within the detection area.
Establish the detection area by walking slowly in different directions until the LED goes off.
Adjusting the sensitivity
The sensitivity setting on the floodlight determines
how far away from the unit the presence of a
moving object can be detected. The detection
area can therefore be increased or reduced by
changing the sensitivity. Turn the sensitivity knob
(SENS) clockwise to increase the sensitivity
(detection distance increases) or anti-clockwise to
reduce the sensitivity. Set the sensitivity for the
required detection distance. The unit can be
adjusted to the right or left, as well as up/down.
The screw on the PIR sensor can be unscrewed
to simplify the adjustment. Retighten the screw
after adjusting.
Testing the floodlight
To test the function of the floodlight (in daylight),
cover the PIR lens with your hand. The floodlight
should then switch on.
Timing
The time the floodlight stays switched on after
being activated can be set from about twenty
seconds to four minutes. Turn the timing knob
(TIME) clockwise to increase the time, or anti-
clockwise to reduce the time. Note: Once the
floodlight has been activated by the PIR sensor
every subsequent activation (when the floodlight
goes on) means that the countdown of the set
time starts from the beginning.
