Position
The floodlight should be installed at least 2.5
metres above the ground. When choosing where
to install the light, it is important that it is positioned
within four degrees of its horizontal line.It must not
be mounted next to or directed towards flammable
surfaces at a distance of one metre or less.
Installation
Study the above diagram and read the following when deciding where to fit the light:
The unit is most sensitive to movements entering the detection area from the side, rather than from
straight ahead, towards or away from the sensor. Position the floodlight with this in mind.
Do not place the floodlight near or facing heat sources, such as flue ducts and chimneys or heat
emitting objects etc. These can cause false alarms and “blind” patches.
The unit should not be directed towards strong sources of light as they can cause it to go into
standby mode (daylight).
Check that the distance from the detection area to trees and bushes etc. is at least three metres to
avoid false alarms.
NOTE:
Before installation, disconnect the power cord from the mains supply by removing the
corresponding fuse in the fuse box, or by taking other relevant action.
25. Mark the drill holes for the bracket, drill up
the holes and insert plugs. Make sure not to
drill through cables or pipes that can be
concealed under the surface.
26. Secure the bracket with suitable screws etc.
(not supplied).
27. Fit the floodlight on the bracket, but do not
fully tighten the screws.
