GENERAL INFORMATION
Important before installation
Connection to the hydronic system may ONLY be carried out by an authorised specialist.
Installation must be carried out in compliance with the standards in force.
Never connect current to the unit before it has been properly installed and connected to the water
system.
Read through all the operating and assembly instructions before commencing the installation.
Make sure that all water connections are sealed when the system is filled and ready for operation.
Make sure the unit is ventilated so that there are no air pockets in the pipes before starting the
product.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
New installations and extensions to existing systems must always be performed by a qualified electrician.
If you have the necessary experience and knowledge, you may replace switches and wall sockets, fit
plugs, extension cords and lamp holders. If not, you should contact an electrician. Improper installation
may result in electric shock or fire.
Important information
Please refer to the operating and installation instructions for your air/water heat pump for guarantee
terms and conditions.
The electric heater must be connected to the outgoing water from your air/water heat pump.
The electric heater must be connected to an earthed power outlet (230V/50Hz, 16A) residual
current device (30 mA) and must have its own fuse (minimum 16A).
Water temperature is 30-70°C.
There is an internal thermostat that controls the electric heater according to a set water
temperature. The thermostat is controlled by the knob on the box.
The electric heater is meant as backup heat if the output from the air/water heat pump is
inadequate, or if any part of your heating system stops working.
The electric heater can also operate in other parts of the system to increase the temperature. It is
important not to connect the electric heater directly to the return line out from your hydronic system.
This can have devastating consequences for the indoor unit of your air/water heat pump and
seriously affect its operation.
Note that the electric heater's output combined with the heat pump is not guaranteed to cover your
total energy needs.
It is generally said that the optimum economic size of a heat pump is about 50% of the maximum
requirements for your house. The Anslut electric heater can also help to back up the heat pump
when its output is inadequate.
When the house power needs exceed the heat pump and electric heater's total output (at the given
outside temperature), additional support is needed from the house's existing heating system.
