Make sure that everyone who works with this machine reads these safety instructions.
IMPORTANT!
Hand and fingers may be injured on the rotating blade.
The machine has a safety circuit-breaker that prevents it from starting up again after a power
failure.
Before you use the machine, check that the voltage specified on the rating plate is the same as the
mains voltage in the workplace.
Check that the cross-section of the extension cord's conductors is sufficient for the saw's power
supply. The cross-section of the extension cord’s conductors should be at least 1.5 mm² (min. 2.5
mm² if the cord is longer than 20 m).
If you use a cable reel, the whole cable must be pulled out from the reel.
Check the power cord for damage. Do not use the appliance if the power cord is damaged.
Do not pull the power cord to disconnect the plug from the mains socket. Keep the power cord
away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
Do not leave the machine out in the rain or expose it to damp or wet conditions.
Make sure the work area is well lit.
Do not use near flammable liquids or gases.
Wear appropriate clothing. Loose-fitting clothing, jewellery and long hair can get caught in moving
parts.
Non-slip shoes are recommended when working outdoors.
Wear a hair net if you have long hair.
Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance.
The machine must not be used by persons under 16.
Keep children a safe distance from the machine when it is connected to the mains.
Keep the work area clean.
Cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
Do not allow anyone to touch the machine or the power cord. Keep onlookers at a safe distance
from the work area.
You can easily lose control of the machine if you are distracted.
Note the direction of rotation of the motor and saw blade. Only use blades that are designed for the
maximum speed of the saw and the material to be cut.
Never attempt to slow the saw blade by applying pressure to its side.
Only use blades that are well sharpened and have no cracks or deformations.
Do not use high-speed steel blades.
Only use saw blades that are recommended by the manufacturer, comply with EN 847-1 and have
a warning label. The cutting width must be no smaller than and the basic thickness of the saw
blade must be no larger than the thickness of the splitter.
Damaged or faulty blades must be replaced immediately.
Never use blades which do not meet the data stated in these Operating Instructions.
Never dismantle the machine’s guards and safety devices or render them inoperative.
If the table insert is worn, replace it.
Always stand to the side of the blade when working with the saw.
Never load the machine so much that it cuts out.
Make sure that cut-offs do not catch on the saw blade. Risk of them being flung away with great
force.
Never attempt to remove loose splinters, chips or jammed pieces of wood when the blade is
rotating.
Always turn off the saw and unplug it before removing jammed pieces of wood or doing other
maintenance measures.
If the saw blade gap is worn, replace the table insert. Turn off the apparatus and unplug the power
cord before starting work.
Always switch off the appliance and unplug the power cord before making adjustments,
maintenance, measurements and cleaning.
Remove adjuster keys/spanners and other assembling tools before starting the machine.
Turn off the motor and unplug the power cord before leaving the work area.
Refit all guards and safety devices immediately after you have completed any repairs or
maintenance work.
Follow all safety instructions, maintenance instructions and other instructions, as well as technical
data.
Always follow the applicable rules regarding workplace safety and accident prevention.
