3.
Press the READ/CON button to activate the laser, aim the laser beam at the measurement object
and press READ/CON again to start the minimum or maximum measurement.
4.
Allow the laser beam to sweep slowly from side to side or up and down across the measurement
point.
5.
Press any button to cancel measurement. The minimum or maximum value appears in the
character display and can be used for more accurate calculations.
Addition and subtraction
The values for measurements in the modes single distance measurement, area measurement, volume
measurement or indirect measurement can be added or subtracted using this function.
1.
Perform the first measurement.
2.
Press the button so that + or - is displayed
next to the battery indicator.
3.
Perform the second measurement.
4.
The second measurement appears on the character display’s top row, and the value is added to or
subtracted from the first measurement. The result appears on the character display’s bottom row.
5.
Perform additional measurements in the same way, if required.
Tripod (not included)
When measuring larger distances, a tripod can be
useful. The tool has a 1/4” thread in the base of
the casing for mounting on commercially available
tripods.
1.
Mount the tool on the tripod.
2.
Set the measurement reference point at the
tripod mount (fig. 30).
3. Perform
the
required measurements.
Error messages
The following error messages can appear in the tool’s character display.
Message Meaning
Err001
The intensity of the reflected laser beam is too high.
Err002
Out of range. The tool has a measurement range of 0.3–50 m.
Err003 The measurement object reflects the laser beam poorly. Use another measurement object or
place a piece of white paper on the measurement object.
Err004
Temperature too high. The optimum operating temperature is 0°C to 40°C.
Err005
Temperature too low. The optimum operating temperature is 0°C to 40°C.
Err006
The batteries are spent – replace them as soon as possible.
Err007
The tool vibrated or moved during measurement. Hold the tool still during measurement.
Err008 Input data fault. One of the smaller sides in the right angled triangle is longer than the
hypotenuse. Repeat the measurement.
MAINTENANCE
The distance meter does not require a great deal of maintenance. Follow the instructions below to
maintain the tool in good condition.
Handle the tool just as carefully as you would a camera or a pair of binoculars.
Do not expose the tool to knocks, continuous vibration or extreme temperatures.
Store the tool indoors. Store the tool in its case when not in use.
Protect the tool against dust and liquids. Clean with a clean, soft cloth, dampened with water or
alcohol if necessary.
Do not touch the lens with your fingers.
Check the batteries regularly. Remove the batteries from the tool when it is not going to be used for
some time.
Replace the batteries when the spent batteries symbol appears in the character display.
Never dismantle the tool, as this can result in harmful exposure to laser radiation.
Do not make any alterations to any part of the laser lens.
