Recording Audio
In addition to its Headset and Remote Resources, the Z2 Controller features IP recorder
integration for up to eight (8) recording channels. These additional channels can be set up to
record any communications net, including the
Dispatch
area. Although non-evidentiary at this
time, the recording feature allows you to save, consult, and confirm audio recordings as
necessary, providing you with a valuable record of communications.
The following instructions assume Recording has been configured and enabled for your system.
For instructions on how to set up and configure Recording channels on the Z2C, see Section 5.5
Recorder Channel Configuration Settings
In the next screenshot, all eight of the Recorder channels have been enabled; three have been
configured and are available to be selected. The other five are grayed out because they are not
yet configured. Select a Recorder channel from the list to reserve it for that net. When you
hover over the Recorder channel in the list, the Recorder channel destination (IP address and
port) is indicated.
Figure 6-14: Selecting a Recorder
In the screenshot below, the white circle in the net bar now indicates that a Recorder has been
selected for net 1. Hover over the circle to indicate the Recorder channel. In net 2, notice that
since channel Rec 501 was chosen for net 1, it has been completely removed as an option.
