Installing the Data Protection Battery
!
CAUTION:
Risk of Property Damage.
Before connecting line
power to the NAE, check for proper wire and terminal plug placement.
Improper electrical connections may damage the NAE.
To install the data protection battery:
1.
Remove the battery from its packaging.
2.
Remove the battery cover to expose the battery compartment
(Callout 1). See Figure 14.

3.
Plug the NAE battery connector (Callout 2) from the battery
compartment into the connector on the battery cable (Callout 3).
4.
Place the battery (Callout 4) into the compartment (Callout 1).
5.
Slide one end of the hook and loop tape (Callout 5) into the hole
in the other tape (Callout 6) and fasten the hook and loop tape
tightly around the battery to minimize battery movement.
6.
Replace the cover of the battery compartment.
Note:
After installation, the battery requires a charging period of at
least 2 hours before it will support data protection when power fails.
Maximum protection (up to three consecutive power failures without
recharging time) is obtained after a charging period of 24 hours.

Wire the communication and power to the unit following the
instructions under
Wiring the NAE
.
