Lens material contains silicone and meets Class 1 UV-absorbing standards with
transmissibility of less than 1% UVB (280-315nm) and 10% UVA (316-380nm) radiation.
All other ACUVUE® products meet Class 2 UV-absorbing standards with transmissibility
of less than 5% UVB and 50% UVA radiation.
Lens material contains a photochromic
1
additive which dynamically absorbs visible light
in the range from 380 nm to 780 nm to a minimum 84% transmittance in the inactivated
(closed) state and to a minimum of 23% transmittance in the activated (open) state
dependent on the lens thickness and the level of absorbed UV and high energy visible
(HEV) radiation.
