INSTALLING DRILL BITS
– cont’d
4. Finish tightening the chuck jaws. Firmly
grasp the chuck body with your hand
and rotate it in a clockwise direction.
The automatic spindle lock will prevent
the spindle from rotating while the
chuck body is being tightened.
NOTE:
Hand tighten chuck jaws. Do
NOT use pliers.
WARNING:
Do not insert drill bit
into chuck and tighten as shown in Fig.
9. Drill bit MUST be properly inserted
with all three chuck jaws holding the bit
centred in the chuck. Failure to properly
insert drill bit could cause the drill bit to
be thrown from the chuck resulting in
possible serious injury or damage to the
chuck.
REMOVING BITS
1. To open the keyless drill chuck, grasp
and hold the chuck collar and rotate
the chuck body in a counter-clockwise
direction until the chuck jaws open and
release the bit.
2. Remove the drill bit.
LEVELING THE DRILL
The drill is equipped with a horizontal level
to assist in keeping the drill “level” while
drilling horizontal holes.
The horizontal level (1) is located in the top
of the drill housing (see Fig. 10). To
maintain a horizontal drilling position, hold
the drill so the bubble (2) is touching both
level indicator lines (3).

Have you read “POWER TOOL
SAFETY”, “SPECIFIC SAFETY
RULES”, “BATTERY & CHARGER
SAFETY” and “SYMBOLS” on pages
3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 of this Manual? If not,
please do so before you operate this
drill. Your safety depends on it!
Every time you use the drill you
should verify the following:
1. Chuck is tight.
2. Workpiece is properly secured.
3. Safety glasses are being worn.
Failure to adhere to these safety
rules can greatly increase the
chances of injury.
