Classification
The TLS5 Tunable Laser Source consists of an exposed metal chassis that is
connected directly to earth via a power cord and, therefore, is classified as a
Class 1 instrument.
Laser Specifications
The laser contained in the TLS source is Class 1M laser as specified under the
laser classification of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for
Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). Laser specifications are provided in
Table 2 below.

Laser Hazards
Warning

optical output device that is operating. Laser radiation is
invisible, and direct exposure can severely injure the human
eye.
