Intended use
This appliance is intended to playback CD Audio and MP3 discs, for radio reception, and playback as well as record cassettes. Read the instruction
manual carefully and store it for further reference.
• Hand out this instruction manual together with the appliance if you give it to third persons.
• Only use the appliance for its intended purpose.
• This appliance is only intended for home use.
• Before connecting the power, check whether the local power supply matches the specifications given on the rating plate.
• Place the appliance on an even and stable surface.
• Place the appliance in a well ventilated location. At least 0 cm is required around the appliance.
• The appliance, the speakers, the power plug, and the wires must not come in contact with liquids. Do not place any objects with liquids, such
as, vases or filled glasses, on top or next to the appliance due to risk of electric shock.
• Do not cover the ventilation openings of the appliance with paper, blankets, or curtains.
• Protect the appliance from humidity, heat, and dust. Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight.
• Ensure the cables for the speakers or the power supply are not placed near a heat source or on sharp edges.
• Do not place candles or other items with an open flame on top of the appliance.
• During thunderstorms or while cleaning it, disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
• In any case of emergency, immediately disconnect the power plug from the power socket.
• Do not use the appliance outside.
• Switch off the appliance if visible damages can be found on it, on the power plug, the power cord, or if it has been dropped.
• Do not open the appliance. The appliance must only be repaired by a qualified person.
• If the appliance is moved from a cold to a warm location, humidity can condense on the lens of the CD player. Do not insert a disc and leave
the appliance powered off for an hour before using it.
• All mechanical parts contain self-lubricating bearings. There is no necessity to oil or grease them.
• The appliance also consumes power in standby mode. Disconnect the power plug to completely switch off the appliance.
• Children are not aware of the potential risk connected to electronic appliances. Therefore keep children away from the appliance.
• Directly dispose of all packaging materials.
• Do not place anything in front of the 3-disc tray (7) or the cassette decks (18, 32).

• Batteries must not be recharged.
• Batteries should not be opened, thrown into fire, or be short-circuited.
• If any battery acid has left the housing, avoid contact to the eyes or mucous membranes. If there has been skin contact, wash the concerned
parts with lots of water and consult a doctor.
• Mind the correct polarity of the batteries. There is a risk of explosion if the batteries are incorrectly inserted.
• Only use the recommended type of batteries.
• Remove the batteries when the appliance is empty, or if the appliance is not to be used for an extended period of time.
• There is a danger to life if batteries have been swallowed.
• Keep the remote control and batteries away from children.
• If your child has swallowed a battery, directly consult a doctor.
Danger! laser!
• The built-in laser can damage your eyes. Never look directly at the laser.
• Do not manipulate the locking mechanism to run the CD player with an opened 3-disc tray (7), due to risk of eye injury by the built-in laser.
