9.1 LUBRICATION SYSTEM OF THE MACHINE

29)…also see appendix page.
It is necessary to keep each moving part of the machine
well lubricated.

Headstock Lubrication:
An oil pump (Fig 30) is driven by the pulley axle.
The oil goes through a filter and then to the pump, gears,
clutches and bearings inside the headstock (Fig 31)
The working condition of the oil pump can be observed
through the oil glass in the front of the headstock.
The oil level can be observed from the oil indicator
behind the headstock.

Feedbox Lubrication:
The oil level can be observed from the oil indicator on
the left of feedbox.

Apron Lubrication:
The oil level can be observed from the oil indicator in
the front of the apron (Fig 33).
Remove the oil plug and use an oil can to fill with oil.

The lead screw, feed rod, forward/reverse control
axle neck are all lubricated from the oil pool on the
rear bracket through woolen lines.
