TYRES - COLD INFLATION PRESSURE
Safety
IMPORTANT!
•
Incorrect tyre pressure is dangerous and may cause accidents.
•
Insufficient pressure causes an increase of tyre bending and
may cause overheating and tyre failure.
•
Excessive inflation pressure reduces the capability of a tyre to
absorb the stress induced by the road. Objects and potholes on
the road may cause damage such to break the tyre.
•
Excessive or insufficient inflation of the tyre may influence
vehicle manoeuvrability or cause the sudden breakage of the
tyres with consequent loss of control of the car.
•
Non-uniform tyre pressure may cause steering problems
leading to loss of control of the car.
IMPORTANT!
•
Non-uniform tyre pressure between one side and the other may
cause swerving of the car while steering.
•
Always drive with all tyres inflated at the prescribed cold
pressure.
Sufficient or excessive tyre pressures compromise stability of the
car and may generate the feeling of poor or disproportionate
steering reactivity.
NOTE:
•
Tyres inflated in non-uniform manner between the two sides of
the car can cause anomalous and unpredictable steering
response.
•
Tyres inflated in non-uniform manner between the two sides of
the car can cause swerving to the left or to the right.
Fuel Economy
Insufficient tyre pressure increases rolling friction and fuel
consumption as a consequence.
