Section 8: Plumbing System
Winterization
Freezing of the water heater and its plumbing components will result in severe damage not
covered by warranty. Follow these recommendations if the unit is to be stored in a freezing
environment for long periods of time. At the start of the winter season or before traveling to
a location where freezing conditions are likely, the unit must be winterized.
To winterize the Aqua Go water heater, drain the water out of the water heater
using the drain chute.
Set the RV plumbing bypass valves so no water or antifreeze will enter the water
heater.
Winterize the RV water lines with antifreeze as normal (Refer t
o Winterinzing the
Plumbing System
).
Do not insert the water inlet filter or heating cartridge into the appliance during
winter if the appliance is not used.
Close the EZ Drain Lever and the access door.
NOTE: Using air pressure to blow out the Aqua Go water heater is NOT
recommended and may damage the appliance.
Decalcification
BASIC MODEL
Lime scale occurs as a result of precipitation from “hard” water. The appliance must be
decalcified regularly depending on water hardness and hot water consumption. Decalcifica
-
tion must be done through your RV dealer. Specialized equipment is required and cannot be
easily accomplished by the owner.
COMFORT and COMFORT PLUS MODELS
Models with the interior rotary control dial have a “CLEAN” setting available. These mod-
els also include a built in water consumption meter that will light the yellow LED (on the
rotary dial) when decalcification is required. This LED will go out briefly every 7 seconds
indicating decalcification is required.
Refer to the water heater manufacturer’s instructions included in your warranty packet for
additional safety and operating instructions.
When the drain chute is folded out, it pro-
trudes past the sidewall of the RV.
When walking past or stooping down, make
sure you and others have sufficient clearance
to prevent injuries.
Never actuate the Easy Drain Lever as long
as the appliance is under water pressure or
is still hot.
Never put fingers between the Easy Drain
Lever and the latch.
Outside Shower
A handheld shower assembly with both hot and cold water is included for use outside of your
recreational vehicle. It may be located in a separate outside shower compartment or at the
utility center (if so equipped).
1.
Be sure the water heater is ON and had sufficient time to heat the water.
2.
If dry camping, be sure the 12-volt water pump is ON.
