POWER WINCH (OPTION)
Your sport utility trailer may have a power winch as part of the optional equipment. The
power winch manufacturer has supplied operating instructions with this equipment. Make
sure to read, understand and follow all information pertaining to the set up and use of the
power winch in this manual and the power winch manufacturer supplied information
before operation. If you have questions, consult with your independent, authorized dealer.
Set up for Operation
1. Carry the power winch into the cargo
area of your sport utility trailer. Plug it
into the power source, which is located
inside the cupboard on the front off door
side of the trailer.
2. Attach the anchor chains to the D-ring
mounted in the floor of the trailer.
(Fig. 5)
3. Position the power winch as far away
from the D-ring so that the anchor
chains are taught. The length of the
chains are adjustable in the slot on the
power winch bracket (Fig. 6). Verify
that the chain link securing the chain to the bracket is attached properly. This must be
correct to hold the link inside the bracket during use of the power winch.
4. Refer to the power winch manufacturer’s instructions supplied with your trailer
REAR BUMPER
I
CAUTION: Do not add items to the trailer’s rear bumper. Attachments
to the bumper could damage the trailer and lead to adverse driving and
towing conditions.
Your trailer’s rear bumper is not designed to accommodate items attached to or carried on
it. Damage from improper modifications to the trailer is not covered by the Jayco Limited
Warranty.
HOLDING TANK(S) AND TRAILER WEIGHT
I
WARNING: We recommend that you DO NOT travel with waste in
your holding tanks. With one or more full or nearly full holding tank(s),
the towing characteristics of your trailer could change and may result in
property damage or personal injury.
The weight of holding tank contents are not calculated into the cargo carrying capacity of
the trailer. The extra weight will diminish the cargo capacity available to you. Traveling
with full holding tank(s) could possibly cause you to exceed the gross axle weight rating(s),
individual tire ratings and/or the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the unit. Potential
damage to suspension components, such as springs, tires and axles, could result.
