Troubleshooting
Malfunctions are often caused by minor faults. You
can easily remedy most of these yourself. Please
consult the following table before contacting your
dealer. You will save yourself a lot of trouble and pos -
sibly money too.
If you can’t fix the fault yourself, directly contact your
dealer. Please be aware that any improper repairs will
also invalidate the warranty and additional costs may
be incurred.
Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
A crossed-out wheelie bin icon means: Bat -
teries and rechargeable batteries, electrical
or electronic devices must not be disposed of
with household waste. They may contain
substances that are harmful to the environ -
ment and human health.
Consumers must dispose of waste electrical devices,
spent portable batteries and rechargeable batteries
separately from household waste at an official collec -
tion point to ensure that these items are processed
correctly. The product can be returned free of charge
in accordance with the legal requirements, for exam -
ple through a municipal waste disposal company or a
dealer.
Batteries, rechargeable batteries and lamps
that are not permanently installed in waste
electrical equipment and can be removed in
a non-destructive way must be removed and dis -
posed of separately before disposal of the equip -
ment. Lithium batteries and rechargeable battery
packs of all systems are only to be handed in to the
waste collection points in a discharged state. The bat -
teries must always be protected against short circuits
by taping off the poles.
All end users are responsible for deleting any per -
sonal data stored on waste devices prior to their dis -
posal.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging consists of cardboard and
correspondingly marked plastics that can
be recycled.
– Make these materials available for recy -
cling.

DANGER! Risk of injury! Unprofessional
repairs may mean that your unit will no
longer operate safely. This endangers you

Fault/malfunction Cause Remedy
Current temperature does not ap -
pear on LCD upon powering on.
Interference Place wireless thermometer close to
transmitter base. Turn both units on
and off until a connection is estab -
lished. If problem persists check
batteries.
Current temperature does not ap -
pear on LCD during use.
Out of range Move wireless transmitter close to
transmitter base to reestablish a
connection. If a connection does not
establish automatically, turn both
units on and off until a connection is
established.
Meat over/under cooked Probe not centered in the thickest
part of meat.
For best results, make certain the
probe is positioned properly.
[H] is displayed instead of current
temperature.
Probe temperature sensor has ex -
ceeded 428 °F.
Remove probe from heat immedi -
ately and allow to cool. Turn trans -
mitter base off and unplug the probe
wire. Reconnect probe and test by
powering on and establishing a con -
nection. If the LCD still displays [H]
then the probe sensor has been
damaged. Please call customer ser -
vice to replace.
[L] is displayed instead of current
temperature.
This is no connection between the
probe and the base station. It can be
the probe or the base station not
functional.
Make sure the probe is connected to
the base properly. If the LCD still dis -
plays [L] , then the probe or the base
has been damage. Replace the pro -
be or the base station.
The signal tower icon in the upper
right corner does not flash every
5 seconds.
The base station is not connected to
the probe.
Make sure the probe is connected to
the base properly. If the signal tower
icon still does not flash, then the
probe or the base has been dam -
age. Replace the probe or the base
station.
