The Properly Equipped Operator
(general)
Always wear a
respirator while
spraying chemicals.
Wear close-fitting
clothing such as
long sleeve shirts
and long pants to
protect legs and
arms. Gloves
offer added
protection and are
strongly recom-
mended. Do not
wear clothing or
jewelry that could
get caught in
machinery
or underbrush.
Secure long hair
so that it is above
shoulder level.
Wear hearing protection devices and a
broad-brimmed hat or helmet.
Always wear eye
protection such as
goggles or safety
glasses.
Wear appropriate foot-
wear (non-skid boots): do
not wear open-toed shoes
or sandals. Never work
barefooted!
Keep a proper footing and do not
overreach—maintain your balance at
all times during operation.

Keep wand pointed in a
safe direction at all times.
NEVER spray anything
that you don't intend to
apply chemical to.
Avoid long-term
operation in very hot
or very cold weather.
Be extremely careful of slippery
terrain, especially during rainy
weather.
OPERATION
