ARBUS 1000 Adjusting the PTO shaft
ATTENTION!
Only operate the power takeoff
shaft fitted with its protection
cover. The chain must be replaced
if one or more links are stretched.
NOTE:
Before cutting the PTO shaft,
check if it is possible to use it wi-
thout reducing its length.Check:
The position on the tractor’s
drawbar. If the sprayer’s tongue
can be adjusted for longer.

Detach the power takeoff shaft from the
equipment to cut it. To cut the power takeoff
shaft proceed in the following manner:
• Remove the protection covers and cut
both pipes (male and female) to the de-
sired lengths (figure M).
• Remove any burrs left behind by the cut-
ting operation. Then, clean both pipes
completely by removing all the filings
(figure N).
• Shorten the length of both plastic covers
using the pieces of pipe already cut as a
measure. Clean the cutting operation res-
idues (figure O).
• Assemble the power takeoff shaft (figure G).
• Do not forget to lubricate the universal
joints and smear a fine coating of oil
onto the pipes (figures H and I).
• Reinstall the protection covers (figure J).
• Attach the power takeoff shaft to the
equipment again and tighten the bolt.
