   SET-UP

3.1  GENERAL _________________________________________________________________

The set-up and testing of the unit should always be
performed by a trained technician familiar with the
operation of this equipment. 

Read each instruction completely and make sure you
understand it before proceeding with the assembly. Stay
alert for potential hazards and obey all safety
precautions.

The RIGHT and LEFT, FRONT and REAR of the
machine are referenced from the operator’s seat, facing
forward.

Accessories, such as cutting units and ROPS, not
included with this product must be ordered separately.
See instructions provided with accessory for installation
and parts.

3.2

INITIAL ASSEMBLY ________________________________________________________

1.

Check tires for proper inflation. Tires have been over
inflated for transport. 

Tractor 10-22 psi (138-152 kPa)

Deck - 20-25 psi (138-173 kPa)

2.

Check battery connections.

Make absolutely certain the ignition switch is “Off”
and the key has been removed before servicing the
battery.

Verify battery polarity before connecting or
disconnecting the battery cables.

When installing the battery, always assemble the
RED, positive (+) battery cable first, and the ground,
BLACK, negative (-) cable last.

Make sure battery is properly installed and secured
to the battery tray.

Tighten cables securely to battery terminals and
apply a light coat of silicone dielectric grease to
terminals and cable ends to prevent corrosion. Keep
vent caps and terminal covers in place.

3.3

THROTTLE STOP (MODELS 70530 AND 70531) _________________________________

1.

Remove throttle stop pivot hardware

Remove throttle stop detent hardware

Loosely assemble throttle stop pivot hardware

Discard washers 

(C)

.

4.

Move throttle stop 

(A)

 to mow position. Lock throttle

stop in mow position using hardware

5.

Securely tighten hardware

 and

 must not be able to move.

6.

Start engine and push throttle lever to full throttle.
Set engine speed to 2400 RPM at full throttle.

CAUTION

Do not attempt to drive the tractor unless you are 

familiar with this type of equipment and know how to 

operate all controls correctly.

WARNING

Make sure the tractor is parked on a solid and level
surface. Never work on a tractor that is supported only
by the jack. Always use jack stands.

!

 

CAUTION

Always use insulated tools, wear protective glasses or 

goggles, and protective clothing when working with 

batteries. You must read and obey all battery 

manufacturer’s instructions.
